About Shipley Performance Horses
It all began with a deep passion for horses and a desire to raise homegrown prospects with care and connection. At Shipley Performance Horses, located outside of Cameron, Missouri, we pride ourselves on dedication to every horse. Our approach is rooted in quality and integrity, ensuring that everything we do reflects our commitment to excellence in equine sales.
Our inspiration
My passion for horses runs deep because they represent a unique combination of strength, grace, and connection. Being around them gives me a sense of peace and purpose that I haven’t found anywhere else. Horses are incredibly intuitive animals—they respond to energy, emotion, and trust. Building a relationship with a horse takes patience, respect, and consistency, and I find that bond both grounding and deeply fulfilling.
Whether I’m riding, grooming, or just spending quiet time in the barn, I feel a strong connection that goes beyond words. Horses have taught me responsibility, empathy, and perseverance. They challenge me to be a better version of myself, physically and mentally, and they’ve played a huge role in shaping who I am today.
What We Want You to Know
Home grown horses represent a higher level of quality because they’re raised with care, consistency, and connection from day one. When a horse is bred, raised, and trained in a single environment, there’s a deep understanding of their genetics, temperament, health, and development. This kind of continuity builds trust between the horse and humans, creating a more well-rounded and confident animal.
Home grown horses often benefit from a slower, more thoughtful upbringing. They're not rushed or passed between owners—they’re handled with patience and trained with a personal touch. That individual attention shows in their behavior, work ethic, and responsiveness. There's also pride in knowing a horse’s full journey—from foal to finished partner—which adds emotional value alongside physical quality.
Simply put, a home grown horse is a reflection of the time, love, and knowledge poured into its life. That foundation makes all the difference in both performance and partnership.
Future Aspirations
My long-term goal is to build a respected program focused on breeding, raising, and showing high-quality horses. I want to be involved in every stage of the process—from carefully selecting bloodlines to raising foals with strong foundations, and developing them into well-rounded horses ready to compete or succeed in their respective disciplines.
Breeding isn’t just about producing horses—it’s about improving the breed and making thoughtful, informed decisions that prioritize conformation, temperament, and athletic ability. I plan to focus on horses that are not only competitive in the show ring, but also versatile, sound, and willing partners.
Raising horses from the ground up allows me to build trust and teach them the right way from the beginning. I value patient, consistent training that brings out the best in each horse. Showing will be a way to showcase their potential and the results of a strong breeding and development program.
Ultimately, I hope to contribute positively to the horse industry by producing quality horses that reflect the time, care, and passion I put into them. This isn’t just a career goal—it’s a lifelong commitment to doing things the right way, for the good of the horse and the future of the sport.
